Section 1: Dublin Heuston to Galway (& return)
We journey from Dublin Heuston to Galway, stopping at Athlone to await the single line. Mid afternoon the return journey to Dublin is taken, this time passing at Ballinasloe.

Section 2: Dublin Connolly to Bray (& return)
An evening journey is taken to Bray from Dublin Connolly by the DART. A freight service stands waiting route south. The return to Dublin is on the loco hauled service from Rosslare.

Section 3: Dublin Heuston to Cork
A morning journey is taken from Dublin Heuston to Cork. On our way we see connecting services at Ballybrophy, Limerick Junction and Mallow.

Section 4: Cork to Limerick
On arrival at Cork the set is shunted to form the return to Dublin. We take this service as far as Mallow for the museum. Then we take a later train to Limerick Junction for the Limerick service.

Section 5: Limerick to Kildare
A cab ride is taken from Limerick to Ballybrophy via the Birdhill route. On arrival we catch the Dublin service as far as Kildare where we wait for the Waterford to Dublin Heuston service.
